Using this dashboard is an easy way to perform a preliminary exploratory data analysis on the effect of Hurricane Maria which hit Puerto Rico in 2017.Hurricane Maria near peak intensity on September 5ġ direct (with Hurricane Nate), 3 indirect These visualizations, combined with the provided filters on the left of the dashboard enables the viewer to get a quick understanding of trends present in the data when combined with the filter for specifying the year (2016 or 2018). This helps the user to visualize a narrowed down list of counties, to compare those of interest with more ease. The final plot (bottom right) lets the viewer compare specific variables among the different counties in Puerto Rico in the form of a bar chart. The Scatterplot on te top right can be used to quickly compare changes in a given SVI variable with respect to another SVI variable. The charts in the first column rank the top 10 and bottom counties, ranked on a specific chosen SVI index. ![]() As well, a user may filter by county population. They could track thus the difference SVI's in counties before and after Hurricane Maria (2017).
